News Update on: Chloe Memisevic

180cm // Showcard & Polaroids via Wilhelmina NY
Dark, thanatophoric, enigmatic & dangerous - keywords to perfectly sum up this girl's attributes. Chloe Memisevic, the Swedish Diamanda Galas lovechild with some Janis Joplin's coolness in her blood, awakes our burning desire for a revival of neo-gothicism in fashion; With Wilhelmina as her NY based representation, things will definitely evolve interestingly enough for Chloe. Who surely owns one of the coolest personalities that New York's modelling agencies have got to offer at the moment. Make sure to check out our interview with Chloe, her showcard posted above, and below some mind-blowing polaroids shot by her agent Fuji of Wilhelmina.

Chitchat with: Eva Staudinger

Image Credit: Trump NY // Motheragency: Modelwerk
One day left until the show castings start! Low on time, but there's still enough left to handle a couple of features. So let's get it started with our german find Eva Staudinger - who did pretty damn well during Berlin FW already (no wonder, just look at that runway-built body and flawless proportions!). With Modelwerks a-class management behind her, Eva found international placement @ Trump in NY and Why Not in Milan. Right now, going through the casting-craze in Manhattan, this girl should be a serious contender for the Newfaces-to-watch-out-for list this season.
See and read more of Eva in our little chat with her below!

News Update on: Olga Gilowska

Ph. Amy Gwatkin  // Image Credit: FDIB (Motheragency)
Amy Gwatkin captured the contours of Olga Gilowska managing to bring a sense of irresistibility to the purpose of testing. Not overstating virtualities or giving them a false color here, just love passion for details. One of the main reasons that makes us taking a pass on posting test results of new faces is by far the lack of identity of testing imagery. Little imperfections get obliterated, light effects are overdone, body language always the same, and if cheekbones ain't prominent enough, some editing will surely do favors. Unpleasant suprises come with first polaroid sets or (by the latest) runway bookings calling forth common "Is that really her?" phrases at the back of one's mind. Surely, testing is absolutely indispensable and can be fun when it's done by geniuses of its handcraft (James Mahon, Sol Sanchez, Eric Guillemain, Billy Kidd..), but an approx number of like 20 good photographers cannot sustain a whole market. Perhaps, our expectation on testing is too high, but let's carry some good (visual) news with photographer Amy Gwantin who created a piece of  supreme harmony with love for the details and even better, with one of our favorite newcomers, Olga @ FM. Absolutely sold on her youthfulness and those delicate expressions... + her taste in photography is quite decent as well.

Newface Madness @ Storm: Amy Torrance

Represented by Storm Models
Get to know Storm Models' latest talk of the town: Amy Torrance. Quite sophisticated looking and giving an amazing attitude towards the camera, Amy got such an enticing beauty with a subtle bone structure - not dollish but not too hard-shaped either, with mesmerizing eyes being full of life and seemingly impossible long legs meeting the most amazing toned body you could ever imagine. We are certain that the British blessing will translate into everything under the right hands, given Storm Models as motheragency, she'll be able to produce captivating results anytime - thumbs up for Amy!

New Face Madness: Almudena Canedo

180cm // Motheragency: View Management
The upcoming weeks might be some very thrilling ones on Digital Diamonds. Working so hard on a special project with some agencies of the main markets, excitement increases steadily as we are crossing our fingers for every girl of our cooperating agencies to get her chance this season - Still 2 weeks left for the show circle to rev up in NY, still many portfolios to be set up, still many girls to be casted and - naturally - still many faces to get our support as well ;) Not in the mood to introduce you to our top 10 of favorite newcomers this time (somebody else might probably take on that business for us) but since everything is still up in the air and nothing confirmed yet we feel like doing something for real now: Our new cooperation partners from View Management of Spain indulged our eyes with a great selection of their latest newfaces! One of them who you should really get to know is 16 years old Almudena Canedo: Discovered via Ford's Supermodel of the World Contest of Spain organized by View Management, Almudena is already over her first show season in Barcelona and got recently signed to Women Management in Milan. We are really fond on the way her South European if not even exotic appeal harmonises with her quirky yet 'uneasy' features (prominent nose, popping lips) - A true rebel going to rock main markets for sure. We keep you posted on Almudena's progress and will get some further promising girls of View Mmgt on the blog later this week!

Standing at 178cm // Motheragency: iD Model Management

iD Model Management definitely has some precious faces to showcase - one of them, hailing from the Netherlands with a full force placement including NYMM, Models 1 in London, Why Not Milan and Nathalie Models in Paris, is the 17-year-old Michelle Schermer. Blonde hair, blue eyes and a dreamy overall-appeal make her a perfect fit to the classic asethetics right now. Already been testing with great results, Michelle is ready for bigger things. Not NY for this season - but London should be a promising and suitable start. So keep your eyes open for the natural talent from Holland!

Newface Madness: Ilva

German // Represented by Place Models

Blown away by Ilva @ Place - More to come soon!

News Updates on: Mia Temirova

180cm // Represented by Storm Models
Mia Temirova has certainly earned our absolute respect. There has never been a girl winning our hearts so quickly - we can almost say it was love at first sight when the Ukranian newcomer entered the runway at Marc Jacobs with an attitude that immediately attracted the first row's glances. Still, until those new digis snapped by Storm Models London appeared in our inbox, we only knew the 'fierce' side of Mia. In her new compcard she just proves her versatility, swichting from a harsh and intense to a soft and delicate mood within one blink. We love the way she's surrounded by the bright light, looking almost seraphic. But it's not only her new snaps - Mia's latest editorial (attached beneath) has impressed us aswell. Remembering the shooting in South Africa as one of her favorite modelling experiences according to the small Q&A we conduced with her some time ago.

Newface Madness: Elisabeth

178cm // 84 62 89 - Belgian - Motheragency: Jill Models Management

Obsessed with: Stephanie Rad

180cm // 79-60-87 - British - Motheragency: Storm Models London

Usually, you either "feel" a girl from moment one, or you don't. That's how it works in most cases. And that's how we chose the models for our features. But since exceptions prove the rule: in Stephanie's case, we are total late bloomers. Having her debut at Prada, without any indications before, she appeared pretty abrupt on the scene. Not that we don't like good surprises. But it took us some time, until her exclusive appearance at Givenchy to be precise, to warm up to the icy beauty from the UK. The bleached brows and hair, strong make-up and an even stronger presence on the runway were, what made us fall for her. Now, we are totally smitten by Miss Rad and couldn't be more excited about the upcoming show-season. Another exclusive? Well, Steph knows how to surprise...

Before walking the walk, we're talking the talk!

Courtesy of all pictures used in this feature is theones2watch.com

It's mid-August and the next RTW season is approaching rapidly fast! New models arriving for their first stay abroad, for castings, go-sees, catwalk lessons... We couldn't be more eager (once again, well, as always shortly before a new runway season) to see who of the new discoveries will "walk the walk", who of the established girls will be able to prove themselves, who might surprise us with a nice come back...? Always exciting to guess. And always pretty vague to determine. But to pass some time and hear an insiders point of view on all the (more or less) recent incidents regarding the modelling industry, we had the pleasure to speak with someone who certainly knows what she is talking about - well, of course, even the most experienced person in the model-biz cannot wrap her head around this unpredictable industry, but let's call it "insider-guessing" at least ;-)

Rosie from the famous "theones2watch", a source which is probably known to every model-fanatic, has sent us her answers to our previously published blogger-project, where we asked model- and fashion-bloggers about their point of view on the current situation concerning Newfaces, changes in the model-cast for fashion shows etc.
Check out the full story below!

Newface Madness @ Storm: Chloe Watson

176cm  // Motheragency: Storm Models London
Talking about collaboration partners in our last post - new contacts and partners are always an extraordinary excitement for us. Especially if it involves the London powerhouse Storm Models (we won't mention that they were the ones who discovered Kate Moss ... oops, and there it already happend ;-P as this is a well-known fact anyway, but also want to point out that girls like Christina Kruse, Eva Herzigova, Julia Stegner, Kasia Struss or Toni Garrn are all represented by Storm). Now, we are totally thrilled to announce a new series of features, all dedicated to Storm Models' newbies on the girls board. So, let's get things started! 18-year-old Chloe Watson is the first one to be featured here on DD. Hailing from London, she can experience an a-class management from Storm - acting as her mother agents. A pretty graceful, kind of romantic yet very perky vibe, is what we get from Chloe - Quite the lovechild of Bregje Heinen and Daphne Groeneveld, no? Receiving her A level results this week (good luck on that, Miss Watson!) she is getting ready for mastering the next level in modelling aswell.

Chitchat with: Chloe Memisevic

Snapped by Cat Model Management (Berlin)
In profound obsession - That's actually the best way we could describe our relation to 17yo new face Chloe Memisevic that started by the time we stumbled over some polaroids in June 2009. It has been her enigmatic inimitability, the calmness & infinity of her green eyes, just the entire peacefulness surrounding her very magical yet otherworldy appereance - like an angel of the darkness and literally one of the best niche girls we've seen in years breaking the hackneyed clichés of Scandinavian conventionality in fashion. Backed up by motheragent Nisch, a 2008 Stockholm established boutique agency with an old-school inspired range of sublime boys and girls, FM Agency of London whom we have spent some words on in July, Cat Model Management of Berlin who enabled Chloe a debut with over 10 shows during Fashion Week Berlin, the direct booking company D Management in Milan and last but not least NY's resuscitated powerhouse Wilhelmina, she's part of a cutting-edge management network crossing the trend of Eurpoean boutique style management (Nisch, Cat..) with power houses of long stading tradition as for some main markets. The "new wave" might be something of a counterpart to the common modelling agency. Rather than maintaining up to 4 divisons, European boutique management follows its very own vision, beyond expetions, guiding names like Code Model Management, Bloom, AM Model MGMT, Fashion does it Better, Nisch etc. That's hightly interesting and definitely worth a future article, but so not the point of today's date - hence back to Chloe herself: Currently in New York, Chloe took some minutes to answer our questions as you can read below.

Newface Madness: Ann-Christin Andersson

180cm // Hailing from Germany - Represented by M4 Models

A very cool feel aroused by the new polaroids of Ann-Christin Andersson of M4 Models in Hamburg, quite the epitome of Teutonic crossover talent. Discovering such crossover talents, who could truly shape up to top working models on both ends, can be like finding a needle in the haysteck - the word 'crossover' is far from being an euphemism for boredom, well for us, at least. Regarding careers of top working crossover faces like Viktoriya Sasonkina for the established, and Ashley Smith for the newer ones, their patterns can easily be as exciting and 'high fashion' as those of hardcore niche faces a la Alice Gibb. As for Ann-Christin, her Toni Garrn likeness perhaps crossing Jac's subtlety is so pleasant to our eyes. Such a freezing stare and silky -smooth-looking skin, definitely a worthy new favourite!

Chitchat @ Tomorrow is another day

Tomorrow is another day
Known as one of the leading boutique agencies representing their models exclusively on all main markets, Tomorrow is another day has always been held in our greatest esteem. Audio-visually speaking, the homepage of the Cologne-located Wundermaschine couldn't be more appealing to such minimalism interventionists like us: Purity, composure and peacefulness accompanied by portfolios of some of the greatest boys the industry has to offer: Yannik Mantele been grabbing advertisement campaigns for Prada, Gucci's Fall 2009 campaign boy Olaf, Givenchy Fall 2010 Runway Exclusive Adrian; then there is Lucas R. impressing Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia.... and if we didn't stop adducing Eva Gödel's most succesful guys we'd sit here until tomorrow, take it literally. We got to talk to 5 promising newfaces of the dreamfactory. Some of them came right off their debut season, some others of their diamonds are still being shaped and grinded for their big breakthrough.
See and read all about the next german stars on the male model scene below.

Newface Madness: Frans

189cm // 92 - 74 - 92.5 - Swedish - Motheragency: MIKAs Stockholm

Since we've promised to take the focus away from girls, also attaching value on the male Newfaces in the industry, here we go with Frans. Coming from Sweden, he certainly has these typical nordic characteristics - blonde hair, a distinctive gaze, prominent but not harsh or too sharp features and that certain "sublime" look. Being only 16, Frans still has enough time for undergoing a impeccable development at MIKAs (who have already established great talents) and is already placed with Fashion in Milan. See the rest of his snaps beneath.

Newface Madness: Stephanie

 178cm // 82 60 89 - Canadian - Motheragency: Mode Models

Being back full force from our summer vacations now, we couldn't be busier already. But as being busy always has its positive sides aswell (in this case: an impressive amount of new material of striking new boys and girls from all over the globe) we couldn't complain. One of the up-coming diamonds who have reached our inbox in the past days is hailing from Canada. Mode Models to be precise. Yes, we've recently featured their newly blonde stunner, Sam. But simply couldn't wait to show you another one of their promising talents. SUCH a must to find a slot for this girl in our schedule - so, be sure to check out the rest of our review on her below!

Chitchat with: Samantha Ypma

Standing at 174cm // Motheragency: Mode Models
Taking a break from modelling for almost 2 years, Samantha Ypma known as Mode Model's showpiece redhead (henceforth > former, obviously) returned to the industry with blonde hair! As enthusiastic advocates of readheads, we were a bit apprehensive when news on the platinum hair were turning up on Mode twitter thinking the red hair had an huge impact on Samantha's appeal. But with those new digitals reaching our inbox one or two minutes ago, we dare to say that the new coloration was absolutely worth the risk: A truly fascinating combination of common plantinum blonde touched by the brilliancy of Kristen McMenamy's almost white mane gives Samantha a sublime mood playing ingeniously well somewhere along the line of 2nd millenium (remember the Belgian tripple and their whole post-supermodel deal with Meisel, Willy Vanderperre). Maybe even enountering the icy purity of the recent Scandinavian wave? You surely get what we mean, the link between those both areas has rarely been 'captured' by one girl so effortlessly. Nevertheless, coming straight to the point of this story, check out the Q&A we did with Sam when she walked in the agency for new polaroids (snapped by the ingenious Michael of Mode) after her hair appointment on Monday.

Obsessed with: Leonie Meyer

176cm // 80 60 90 - German - Motheragency: M4 Models
M4 Models has beyond doubt proved to be one of the leading motheragents when it comes to filling the needs of high fashion markets with their mind-blowing discoveries. Our all-time favorite Karolin Wolter, Alexandra Tretter who has been a steady muse of Christian Dior, Ann Christin been keeping us breathless since beginning of this year and talking as of late the Hamburg/Berlin based agency has apparently found a striking follow-up of Wolter & Co - We just melt away seeing those brand new snaps of their latest newface Leonie Meyer. The intensity of her eyes, the shape of her face, the smoothness of her skin, the fall of her hair, the ingenuity of her body language.... Soft but still sophisticated enough to catch eyes with the greatest of ease - A fascinating & expressive girl endued with such a versatile character infront of the lense that cannot pass unnoticed through the next seasons. Way to go, Leonie!

Newface Madness: Patty P.

174cm // 79 62 90 - Dutch - Motheragency: 77 Models
We've always been looking for newfaces which could evolve to great models and make it in the long-run; not categorically searching for the so called next "big thing" or superstars, but aming girls either with crossover appeal or those who are blessed with an unique beauty whilst not being depended on a certain outstanding feature to make them become special - isn't it all about the comprehensive package - virsual and internal? Be it Dutch newface Patty P. standing at 175cm and new to Studio KLPR  impressing with feline eyes, red hair and an internal elegance to fit our vision of a striking crossover girl, we assure you that last words have not been spoken about her on Digital Diamonds.
But make sure to check out all of her digis below!

News Update on: Christina Kruse

Represented by Women Management NY
Supermodels have always impressed us in a way for their ethereal appereances, otherworldy integrity and career patterns which seem so surreal for most models of today. One of these stars, holding A class options since the day she started, is without doubts Christina Kruse. Being kept on the go for almost 16 years with projects that included own art exhibitions, she's now back in the magazines with editorals in the new issues of Vogue US (by Steven Meisel) and Dazed & Confused. If you look at those brand new polaroids, you'll definitely see the reason for her incessant fame: glowing skin, those very special "nordic" features like prominent cheekbones, blonde hair and an overall matureness make Christina become indispensable for the industry. Probably keeping her place there for some more years anew.
