Interview: Fresh Model Management

Established three years ago in Hoofddorp, close to Amsterdam, Fresh Model Management (founded by renowned model Suzanne Ports and photographer Mauro de Silva) has already made a name for itself by scouting models for the international high fashion market. You might not know all of their names, but some of Fresh Management's faces already count to the most promising Newcomers of the European industry and therfore, should certainly leave a mark in your mind. One of them: Marleen Gaasbeek. Still new to the business, she already enjoys the best placements at top agencies like IMG and graced some prestigious covers for L’Officiel or Style Magazine as well as editorials for Jalouse. Lotte is another girl from Fresh’s board. Currently on the new cover of Costume Magazine and getting ready for a bright future. Then, they have Martine Schouten Hoogendijk - who is represented by New York Model Management. Who is one of the favorite Newcomers of casting director Michelle Lee (responsible for the ready-to-wear Fashion Shows of Marc Jacobs, Versace and Louis Vuitton). But the brightest star out of the Fresh Model Management girls has had her international breakthrough during the past days – it is Melissa Tamarijn, who walked Calvin Klein in New York (exclusive, please!) and some A-class shows all over Europe until now (count Burberry, Versace, Prada, Jil Sander and Fendi among these). And of course: such big success makes people take notice of a girl. Thus, Melissa became so demanded that certain agencies even gossip to be the "discoverers" of her. So let us tell you three things: a) it were her Suzanne and Mauro who first of all discovered and b) invested money and hard work into her development, and then c) finally placed Melissa with major agencies all over the world.
But to sum everything up – it’s going very well for Fresh Model Management's newbies these days, and so we couldn't resist to ask the team for a small cooperation. So, while reading this interview, we hope that you, our dear readers, also get obsessed by the Hofddorp based dreamfactory and its lovely faces.

Interview: Sharm Model Managemen

Sharm Model Management is a 1996 established agency in Ukraine; since then Tatiana and her team scout, sign up, plan and calculate models and their careers. Hard-edged and fast, into all markets worldwide. Sharm Models is mainly into high end commercial careers, especially sending girls to the Asian markets and managing their careers hand in hand with their Asia-based parter agencies about a distance from thousands of miles. Then again, special beauties, get the chance to work in Europe and New York, given that these special beauties get signed to partner agencies in the Europe fashion capitals; special beauties, such as Mia Temirova, who was discovered by Tatiana about one year ago and hit Marc Jacobs runway in New York last week. This interview with the founder of SHARM MODEL MANAFEMENT (/and we are so greateful about the possibility to have conduced it) contains a great deal of information about SHARM MODEL MANAGEMENT itself , the local Ukrain fashion market, supermodels and a little insight of the scounting industry in the late 90s, without internet (difficult to imagine). Due to the size of this interview, we'll do it a little different this time: Today you just get to see the interview, and soon, Tatiana's latest discoveries!

Newface Madness: Mia Temirova

As New York Fashion Week is over, Bryant Park closed its doors today and models are off to London/Madrid or even take a pass on both to just relax, it's time for a little new face resume.
One of the most intriguing girls is 16yo Mia Temirova from Ukraine. She walked a bunch of shows including Elise Overland and the one and only Marc Jacobs.

See and read more after the jump!

Newface Madness: Iggy & Olesya

Today's New Face-feature goes to Iggy and Olesya, both new at Aquarelle Models in Moscow. Let's start with Iggy (picture above). To be honest, we've rarely been that excited about a newbie - we love her sharp edges, her rawness and these piercing icy eyes. A girl (standing at 176cm, 80 60 87) who is already exciting her motheragents Ekaterina and Tatiana from Auqarelle as well as her agents from Profile in London. There's no doubt that this raw diamond has an presence that wants you to see more.

Then, there is Olesya (174cm, 81 58 89). She's confident and as she's being able to do both high fashion and commercial amazingly well thus we are expecting to see much more of this russian stunner. (BTW she's not signed to any international agency, yet.)

Be prepared to read more about Aquarelle Models' new girls in an interview with the agency owners on Digital Diamonds, soon.

Rock it!

Fashionweek starts tomorrow. The actual buzz has started weeks ago. Castings, preparations, last-minute alterations... the behind-the-scenes-stress is well known to all of us.
But what we certainly know aswell: that the term fashionweek is not only linked to a stressful time, or big runway shows with shining model-stars in glamouros clothes but also to a nice amount of New Faces, promising catwalk-diamonds, hailing from every part of the world and trying to convince people that it's defenitely worth to remind their faces.

Speaking of these, here we have our selection (going from totally fresh girls, to already runway-experienced but still rather new ones) for the most promising diamonds for F/W10.11

Cat Model Management Berlin

It's a fact: Germany is all over commercial modelling, which is to say that most agencies aim on the commercial local market and do not waste much thought on wise development strategies of a model's career but always thinking of how to make money in the fastest way possible and forgetting about quality & reputation of the custormers as long as short term money is being accumulated . For a long time these pattern were standard at german agencies (except at some such as Place or Modelwerk), but since some minds founded high fashion oriented agencies in Germany and do even consider - for the first time - to care about what's going on in the global environment of fashion (...thus agency business) out of Germany, there's certainly hope for maybe more than only one girl German newbie per season.

One of those, let's say nouveau agencies is CAT MODEL MANAGEMENT (website still under construction but finished soon!), based in the heart of Germany's capital - Berlin Mitte. Very striking and sorts of truly refreshing - CAT Model Management does not jump on the bandwagon of low-quality management companies representing (in model terms) low-quality faces. CAT Mgmt is primarily focusing on scouting (and managing) female models for the worldwide high fashion market. Founded in October 2009, it took a bit time - and even trips to fashion capitals like Paris by the way - to build up a strong booking table (which is going to be completed soon) packed with killer agents from all over the world.

As every agency does, also CAT Mgmt is looking for fresh, inspiring faces (best from Berlin and its environs). What you - as a New Face at CAT - benefit from is a high end managing approach personalised to every individual being represented by the agency as well as an excellent network containing contacts to top agencies and global player clients from all over the world.

How to become a model @ CAT?
The application itself is pretty easy:
Shot some snapshots/polaroids that show very clear headshot ( frontal & face profil). Then, please provide some full length images. Don't use make-up, don't airbrush but shot outside or with natural light & wear tight clothing! You can also send in a video of you!
Mail is:

INFO@CATMODELMANAGEMENT.COM

Please have an eye on the requirements before you apply:
Age: 12 - 20
Height: 175 - 180cm, if you're under 14 years and you're still growing (you most likely do) be 170cm at least.
An almost flawless skinn, good hair and a slimm silhouette are important as well! Your enquiry will be dealt with carefully and promptly in anyway. Now good luck and mention us when you apply!

We'll keep you up to date and introduce you to CAT Mgmt's new girls in a big review, soon!

Interview: Kori Richardson

180cm | Represented by IMG Models in New York, London, Milan and Paris

It's been a long time since we've had a model interview for you.
Today, we are very proud to show you our latest piece we did with Canadian top girl Kori Richardson. Discovered by Giovanni Management in 2004, it took almost three years and an agency switch until -then 1989 born redhead - made a huge appearance. It was the Gucci & Calvin Klein Resort show in New York and some months later an exclusive for Jil Sander as well as various high class bookings that made her gaining a top status. H&M, Burberry, Topshop, I-D, Vogue China, Dazed & Confused and Numéro are just some of her print archievements and we feel like there is a lot more to come. We ran the chance of doing a small interview with Kori. About Marilyn Monroe, aviation, upcoming work and Karl Lagerfeld. Definitely a wise young woman with so much more to know about than just beauty & make up tips.
